One of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails most eagerly awaited annual events
will be returning to Logan in June when Dirt Days on the
Hatfield-McCoy Trails comes back to Logan County from June 8-12. The
event will feature plenty of fun for the whole family, including poker
runs, drag racing, mud pits, casino night, down-home food, movies
putt-putt and fishing for children 18 and under. The event will be
hosted at the Thunderblast compound on Three Mile Curve in Logan along
old Route 10, and you can contact them and reserve your spot at

on the internet and register now. Trail events for Dirt Days will be
held at the Bearwallow and Rockhouse trails.
Some more big events are on the roster for a summer of fun in Logan County.
Logan's Got Talent, a local talent competition will be returning to
town at the Coalfield Jamboree on Main Street in Logan on June 4. Showtimes will be around 6 p.m. or so.
The annual West Virginia Freedom Festival will return to downtown
Logan from June 30 to July 2. For more information call Call 752-4044 or

There are many more fun activities scheduled for Logan County this
summer. In fact, a whole summer of fun will begin when the pool at
Chief Logan State Park opens up for the summer season on Saturday, May
28. The park pool will also feature some special pool parties on June
14, 21 and 28 from 6-8 p.m. Admission for the parties is $5. The town of Man's pool will be open Memorial Day weekend too. These are two great facilities that offer a lot of fun for the whole family.
The Museum in the Park at Chief Logan State Park will be bringing West Virginia days back, this year, scheduled for June 25 and 26 , and there will be many activities there as part of our state's birthday celebration
The Aunt Jennie Wilson Music Festival will also be returning and
this year it will be held on the Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day.
Area outdoorsmen will want to make plans to catch the first ever
Chief Logan Hunting and Fishing Outdoor Expo on July 16 and 17 at
Chief Logan State Park's Convention and Conference Center. This great
event is being sponsored by the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and
the Hatfield-McCoy Convention and Visitor's Bureau and will feature
world famous bowhunter Chuck Adams, as well as all sorts of vendors,
gear and other activities, including an Archery Tournament, Bird Dog
seminars, Coyote calling seminars and more. For more about this event

The folks at the Aracoma Story Inc. at Chief Logan State Park
Amphitheater have some major shows planned in June, July and August
with outdoor presentations of "Cinderella", "The Aracoma Story:Spirits
and Legends", and "Disney's The Jungle Book." First up will come the
beloved fairy tale Cinderella from June 14-July 3.
You can enjoy Cinderella, the wicked step sisters and the venerable
Prince Charming himself as the classic fable comes to life on stage
with music and comedy for the whole family's enjoyment. A variation on
local folklore The Aracoma Story focuses on events in the lives of
Chief John Logan, Princess Aracoma and others which blends the
stories of the pioneers verses the Native Americans into an exciting
outdoor drama. This is a new version of the story which has been in
constant annual production for decades. The Aracoma Story Spirits and
Legends runs from July 19 - August 6.
More music and family fun return to the stage when Rudyard Kipling's
classic tale of a boy raised by Jungle Animals comes to life in
Disney's The Jungle Book from August 9-14. The Jungle will be Jumping
again when the very best local actors and actresses in the youth
category being the tale to audiences of all ages. Last summer the show
drew in hundreds nightly and you can see why starting August 9-14.
